Automobile dealers’ body FADA on Thursday said passenger vehicle (PV) retail sales in January declined 4.61 per cent to 2,90,879 units as compared to same month last year, hit by tepid response by end customers. According to Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), which collected vehicle registration data from 1,223 out of the 1,432 regional transport offices (RTOs), PV sales stood at 3,04,929 units in January 2019.

Mercedes brought intrigue to Formula One testing on Thursday with television images showing Lewis Hamilton moving his car’s steering wheel forwards and backwards as he drove. Hero MotoCorp is ready to partner Harley-Davidson in India as the cult American bike maker looks at a larger play here with low-powered, locally-made products, chairman Pawan Munjal has said. “If they want to enter into a partnership, then why not? I am open to the right kind of match,” Munjal said when asked whether the company is ready for an alliance with Harley.

Design and technology services firm Tata Elxsi on Monday announced partnership with group firm Tata Motors for developing a unified connected vehicle platform. Tata Power is planning to increase its network of electric vehicle charging stations to 700 by next year, a top company official said. Hearing the application of Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) yesterday, the Supreme Court refused to extend deadline for sale and registration of BS-IV vehicles beyond April 1.
